Complex Grief & Trauma Specialist

I am an Afro-Indigenous Latine therapist with 28 years of experience in behavioral and public health, including 17 years in Physical Medicine as a Sports Specialist. My interdisciplinary background informs an existential-integrative approach that considers the whole person—body, mind, culture, relationships, spirituality, and performance.

I specialize in complex grief & trauma—especially when its effects extend into the body, relationships, identity, culture, spirituality, sleep, & nervous system. My existential-humanistic approach also creates space to explore meaning, purpose, belonging, mortality, and spiritual concerns without requiring religious belief.

The Common Thread

Trauma and grief can affect more than the past. They can shape how we relate, sleep, think, experience our bodies, make meaning, & understand ourselves and our place in the world.

My approach creates space for the psychological, relational, cultural, embodied, & spiritual dimensions of healing—without prescribing what you should believe.

1-hr  Virtual Sessions

I know that Healing happens in relationship—with yourself, your body, your history, & your community. I offer a collaborative, culturally responsive approach supporting the mental health, trauma recovery, & personal growth of women & femmes.

How I work: I integrate CBT, DBT, and somatic approaches, balancing practical skills & insight with attention to emotions, embodied experiences, & the ways trauma can shape everyday life.

Why it matters: Therapy should make room for the full complexity of who you are. Together, we can build greater emotional well-being, strengthen your sense of agency, & support meaningful change while honoring your identities, relationships, culture, and lived experience.

Core Focus Areas

Trauma & Emotional Health: Anxiety, depression, eating disorders, sexual trauma, & trauma-related concerns.

Intimate Partner Violence: Healing from domestic violence, coercive relationships, & financial abuse while rebuilding safety, autonomy, & self-trust.

Identity & Family: Navigating family conflict, identity concerns, relational patterns, & challenges associated with personality disorders.

Traditional Afro-Caribbean Spirituality Integration: Culturally informed exploration & education related to traditional medicines, Afro-Caribbean spiritual traditions, & African spiritual healing practices.

Ways to work together: Individual & Group Therapy

The Bottom Line

Therapy can be a space to understand what you've experienced, reconnect with yourself, develop practical tools, & create change that reflects who you are & how you want to live.
